Margi Raffan
Margi Raffan was born in South Africa in 1960. She discovered a marvelous escape into an enchanted world from the moment she could read and wrote her first stories when she was very young. Together with her husband and two children they immigrated to Canada in 2001 where they traded the sandy warm shores of the coast of South Africa for the cold climate of Calgary, Alberta in Canada.
Upon returning to their hometown on vacation in 2020 her love for the country of her birth was rekindled in the magical world of her sister-in-law’s garden and the creatures that visit it, inspiring “Judy’s Garden” and helping her rediscover her love of writing.
She began to write “Judy’s Garden” for her grandchildren in the hope that they would gain some insight into their South African heritage. Her next book, on Canadian garden creatures called “Ali’s Garden,” will hopefully be ready by Fall.
